As we already announced, the European Speeddown Championship planned for last year will now take place from July 29th to 31st, 2022. The Freital district of Somsdorf remains the venue. The organizers of the home club “G-Haus” Kleinnaundorf e.V. have been working intensively with Eibe e.V. Somsdorf for several weeks on the preparation of the event. There is still a lot to plan – the list of things to think about is long. The organizers are particularly dependent on the help of the population when it comes to the implementation, because 90 route marshals alone are needed along the route and many other helpers in the area to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Therefore, all volunteers, whether from clubs or private individuals, who can support this unique event in Freital and become part of the event team, are very welcome. A special date has already been announced. On April 24, 2022, there will be a dress rehearsal across the entire race track from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is used to check logistical and racing processes. Above all, the route marshals are instructed and courses of action are trained with them. During this time, Höckendorfer and Somsdorfer Straße and Alter Berg will be closed to public traffic. According to FISD regulations, anyone who does not take part in the 2022 European Championship race can take part as a driver. Starters of the “100 Years Freital” Cup are welcome to test the route with their crates.
Since it is not foreseeable which Corona regulations are in force for the test drive, the onlookers are informed that all distance, mask and hygiene rules applicable at this time must be observed.
